Material Measurement Systems

Resonant Sciences' Electromagnetic Microwave Probe (EMP) antennas are the basis for a wide variety of our test fixtures. Currently, there are four standard antenna bands that cover 1.5 – 40 GHz. These antennas have small spot size and low VSWR. Other custom bands available upon request.

The EMP Benchtop Measurement systems are low and high band capable, compact transmission and reflection measurement systems. These systems fit on laboratory benchtops and are capable of angle and polarization dependent measurements from 1.5-40 GHz.

Resonant Sciences offers a measurement solution that integrates an array of their EMP antennas with customized fixturing to permit automated, accurate and rapid characterization of materials and structures. Bandwidth of the system is probe dependent with options including (but not limited to): WRD580 (6-16 GHz), WRD750 (8-18 GHz), WD180 (18 – 40 GHz), (as pictured) WRD350 (3.5 – 8 GHz), WRD150 (1.5 – 5 GHz), as well as standard waveguide bands. The system has fully automated motion and data collection and is material/system qualification worthy.

The conveyor variant EMP Array provides all the capability of the EMP automated array, with the added microwave measurement stability associated with a stationary measurement system and a moving part under test.

Resonant Sciences' Specular Inspection and Diagnostic Ring (SpIDR) measurement system is based on a ring configuration of EMP antennas and is capable of transmission (normal and off normal incidence), normal incidence reflection, and bistatic reflection. This system can measure TE and TM polarization and over broad incidence angles and can be configured to operate from 3.5-40 GHz (6-16 GHz band shown). SpIDR is also capable of full motion and data collection automation and is material qualification worthy.

Resonant Sciences offers an imaging variant of the SPiDR system that is designed for rapid imaging of targets. The system uses broadband (4-40 GHz) antennas and dielectric lenses. Target rotation and data collection are fully automated.

A horizontally oriented variant of our SpIDR system is also available. This system combines the horizontal aspects of the Sundial system with the rail and four antenna concepts of the SpIDR system. The system can operate from 4-40 GHz and test at precise pin-located angles from normal incidence to 60 degrees for both polarizations.

Resonant Sciences offers a Scanning Inspection and Measurement of In-Situ Targets (ScIMITar) measurement system. This system is a monostatic or quasi-monostatic reflection measurement system. ScIMITar is designed to be a mobile system capable of obtaining monostatic reflection data from various in-situ targets in a laboratory/research environment. The system can be configured to operate from 3.5-40 GHz (18-40 GHz shown) and is capable of a 55 degree adjustment in look angle for either TE or TM measurements. The antenna height from floor and distance from the target are adjustable. The system uses digital angle measurements and can be automated.

Resonant Sciences offers low VSWR rectangular and dual ridge waveguides from 150 MHz to 40 GHz. These systems can be delivered with high quality positioners.
